Genre: Contemporary Romance
Reviewer: D.A. Henneman
I really enjoyed this book; it engaged me from the very start. Charli Cooper, the main character, has a strong voice, and has made some decisions that are life altering for her. The author has done a good job building Charli's character, so she reflects strength and independence, but also shows just enough insecurity and anxiety that I am able to connect to her as a reader. The man Charli falls for, JD Manning, is arrogant at first, but as his defensive layers melt away, and Charli sees the vulnerability he is attempting to hide, she can’t help but fall for him. By the way, it doesn't hurt that he's as handsome as sin!
The supporting characters are well developed, and the plot kept me engaged to the tail end of the story. Even the conflict, which inevitably happens in all romances, was believable and filled with emotion. I would definitely read more from this author!
